1. How do I book an Interview?

Olympics Positions:

Once you have registered and applied for a role online you will be presented with interview day slots available to book immediately. If none of the available slots are agreeable to you please do not book any, we will contact you via email when new slots become available.

If you haven’t been able to book an interview day this means there are none available, we will contact you via email when new slots become available.

Events Positions:

Once you have registered and applied for a role online you will be presented with interview day slots available to book immediately. If none of the available slots are agreeable to you please do not book any, we will contact you via email when new slots become available.

If you haven’t been able to book an interview day this means there are none available, due to demand our interview day slots book up very quickly.

If you cannot see a vacancy for the area which you currently reside, this will be because we are not currently recruiting in that area.

 

2. How do I change/rebook my interview slot?

If you need to change/rebook your interview slot please call one of our call centre agents on 0203 535 2012, this number is for Olympic roles only

If you wish to rebook or change your interview, please log back into the Careers portal and you will see the link directly under “my applications” here you will be able to rebook your session slot or amend it.

 

3. How do I cancel my interview slot?

Olympic Positions:

If you need to cancel your interview slot please call one of our call centre agents on 0203 535 2012, this number is for Olympic roles only

Events Positions:

If you wish to cancel an existing events interview booking, please log back into the careers portal and you will see the link directly under “my applications” here you can cancel your interview booking.

 

4. There is only 1 interview slot and I can’t make that day what do I do?

Olympic Positions:

We are regularly updating interview slots on the systems and will email you when new slots become available.

If none of the available slots are agreeable to you please do not book a slot.

Events Positions:

Due to the volume of recruitment undertaken in Events, we can only facilitate a number of session times and dates. If none of these dates are suitable for you, please keep an eye out on our vacancies and we will assign additional dates depending on demand.

 

5. Can I attend more than one recruitment day?

No, there is no need to attend more than one interview day. Once you have attended an interview day you will be in our system and we will contact you about next steps. Please also note you can only apply for either an Events role OR Olympic role, due to the current events schedule which will be in operation over the year.

 

6. What happens at the recruitment day?

Olympics Positions:

a. Arrival – on arrival we will check you in and check your proof of ID

b. Sensory tests – here we will undertake some simple and standard tests such as eyesight

c. Face to face interview – you will then have a one to one interview about any relevant experience you may have to date and discuss why you want to be part of Team G4S

d. Questions – following your interview you have the chance to ask any questions you may have

e. Document check – it is here we will check you have all the correct documentation

f. Application completion – you will be escorted to the computer area where you can finish filling out your online application form. The team will be on hand for any questions you may have.

PLEASE NOTE: if you have already completed your application form online prior to interview this will be a much quicker process for you.

g. Photo – before leaving we will take your photo for our records.

Events Positions:

  1. Arrival – on arrival we will check you in and check your proof of ID
  2. You will need to fill in a CRB form (if applicable) and will be handed a Events Experience leaflet that goes through a number of different questions which you may have
  3. You will then have an interview with one of our team, and we will go through your online application process, it is vital that you have filled in as much information on your application form, in order to be processed efficiently
  4. You will then have your photo taken and documents copied & checked.

 

7. How long will the recruitment day take?
Olympic Positions:

It can take anything between 1-3 hours. If you bring all the correct documentation and have completed your online application for beforehand this process will be a lot quicker.

Events Positions:

It will take approx 45mins to 1 hour to go through the whole process, depending on how much information you have provided on your application form.

 

8. What documents do I need to bring with me?

Please remember to bring the following documents with you to your interview:

– Valid Passport plus a valid visa (if applicable). All documents need to be valid until at least 9th November 2012

OR

– Full length birth certificate if you are a UK citizen. (If you are providing a birth certificate, you will need to also provide photographic ID e.g. expired passport, photo driving licence, forces card, warrant card or an SIA licence.)

– Proof of right to work in the UK (please note that your visa must be valid until at least 9th November 2012.

– Proof of address (utility bill / bank statement dated within the last month.  Please note mobile phone bills are not acceptable.

– National Insurance card / letter (NI card/letter, P45, P60 or correspondence from JCP/ Inland Revenue). If you do not have a national insurance number you can apply for one by calling 0845 600 0643

– Bank account details

If you are in possession of a valid and current SIA: Door Supervision licence please bring this with you.

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST have a National Insurance number BEFORE going to the interview day. If you cannot evidence it, you will be turned away

 

9.What if I do not have my passport or full length birth certificate at the   recruitment day?

Olympics Positions:

Unfortunately, if you do not have proof of identification and your right to work we will not be able to proceed with your interview. You will be turned away and asked to come to another interview day when you have this documentation.

Events Positions:

As above, we require your Proof of ID in order to proceed with your application.

 

10. What happens if I forget any documents?

Olympic Positions:

Providing you have proof of ID (passport or full birth certificate) we will be able to proceed with your interview. You will be given a checklist highlighting missing information and you will have 10 working days to return to where your interview was held to provide this documentation to us, you do not need to rebook an interview slot to do this you can just pop along.

Events Positions:

Providing you have proof of ID (passport or full birth certificate) we will be able to proceed with your interview. You will be given a checklist highlighting missing information and you will have 7 working days to return to where your interview was held to provide this documentation to us, you do not need to rebook an interview slot to do this you can just pop along.

 

11. What happens if I don’t get my missing documentation to you within specific time lines?

If you fail to provide your missing documentation within the allocated time your application will be withdrawn. We require all the information to complete your application.

 

12. Who do I contact if I’m running late for my interview?

If you are running late you should still come to the interview day as normal, and if you miss your slot you may need to wait we’ll try to fit you in as best we can, but. If we are unable to accommodate you at your interview day one of the team will book you onto another day

 

13. What happens if I miss my interview slot?

Olympic Positions:

If you failed to show up for interview you will need to contact a call centre agent on 0203 535 2012, providing you have a legitimate reason for not attending you will be allowed to re-book one further time.

Events Positions:
If you have failed to show up for your interview, you will receive an email from us, which will have a link to rebook yourself (depending on current availability & demand) however if we no longer have any more interview sessions available, we will withdraw you from this vacancy and you will need to reapply at a later stage, as you can appreciate the demand for our positions is exceptionally high.

 

14. When will I know if I have passed my interview and what will happen next?

Following your interview, you will receive and email highlighting if you have passed or been unsuccessful. If you are successful you will then be placed into company screening and vetting.

You can also check on the global careers centre, where you first registered, to check you status in the process by logging onto your profile.

 

15. If I am unsuccessful at the interview day, how long before I can re-apply?

Unfortunately, you cannot re-apply to work at G4S  if you are unsuccessful at interview.

 

16. What do I do if I no longer want to apply for this role?

Olympics Positions:

You need to contact a call centre agent on 0203 535 2012 to withdraw your application.

Events Positions:

You need to email us on crowdpleaser@uk.g4s.com advising of your full details and vacancy details, you will then receive an email advising that we have removed your application from our systems.

 

17. How do I make a complaint about this process?
