SIA DS training in London will be provided at a separate location: City Gate House (City Base), 246-250 Romford Road, Stratford, E7 9HZ. 2. It’s my first day at the G4S London 2012 Recruitment & Training Centre. What time should I arrive?

The date and time of your first training session will be listed at the beginning of your training schedule. You should arrive 30 minutes BEFORE this start time.

 

3. What happens when I arrive at the G4S London 2012 Recruitment & Training Centre?

It is important to bring a copy of the confirmation letter (or latest reminder letter) and that you know the room name of where your first session at the G4S London 2012 Recruitment & Training Centre will be held.

When you arrive at the G4S London 2012 Recruitment & Training Centre, follow the signs to the training room listed on your training schedule for your first session. There will also be someone there to help direct you.

 

4. Where is the G4S London 2012 Recruitment & Training Centre?

The Training Centre is in Stratford, London. The full address is:

5. How do I get to the G4S London 2012 Recruitment & Training Centre?

The Training Centre is very well serviced by public transportation. As there are no on-premises parking and minimal restricted street parking, you are encouraged to use public transportation in the first instance. Directions and a map are below.

 

6. Can I park on the premises?

There is NO parking at the G4S London 2012 Recruitment & Training Centre. There is limited public paid parking available locally so please allow an EXTRA 20 minutes as you may not be able to park near the Training Centre.

 

7. What do I have to bring with me?

Please remember to bring the following documents with you to your interview:

– Valid Passport plus a valid visa (if applicable). All documents need to be valid until at least 9th November 2012

OR

– Full length birth certificate if you are a UK citizen. (If you are providing a birth certificate, you will need to also provide photographic ID e.g. expired passport, photo driving licence, forces card, warrant card or an SIA licence.)

– Proof of right to work in the UK (please note that your visa must be valid until at least 9th November 2012.

– Proof of address (utility bill / bank statement dated within the last month.  Please note mobile phone bills are not acceptable.

– National Insurance card / letter (NI card/letter, P45, P60 or correspondence from JCP/ Inland Revenue). If you do not have a national insurance number you can apply for one by calling            0845 600 0643

– Bank account details

If you are in possession of a valid and current SIA: Door Supervision licence please bring this with you.

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST have a National Insurance number BEFORE going to the interview day. If you cannot evidence it, you will be turned away

 

8. Will I be allowed into the training session if I am late?

All training session start times are exact. If you arrive late you will NOT be able to attend training for that session and you will have to re-schedule your session. You can do this by calling the Call Centre on 0203 535 2012 and selecting option 2.

 

9. Accessibility

If you have any specific accessibility requirements please contact the Call Centre in advance of your session, on 020 3535 2012 and select option 2.

10. Do I get a meal on the day? Will my special dietary requirements be catered for?

If you are attending training on site for at least 7 hours in any one day a sandwich meal will be provided. A vegetarian option will be available. You are welcome to bring in your own lunch or evening meal but please note that refrigeration and microwave facilities are very limited. If you have any allergy concerns please contact our Call Centre in advance on: 020 3535 2012 and select option 2.

 

11. What do I wear for outside training sessions such as vehicle training (VSA) or training?

Please wear suitable waterproof clothing for the current climate, as well as sensible, flat-soled footwear. Women should wear trousers.

 

12. Can I use my mobile phone, laptop, mp3 player etc. at the G4S London 2012 Recruitment & Training Centre?

No, the use of these items during training sessions is not allowed. Your full attention and concentration is required during training sessions. There is also no Wi-Fi network available.

 

13. Will there be smoking areas?

The G4S London 2012 Training Centre is a non-smoking building. However, small smoking shelters may be installed in the future.

On foot

Walk straight through Stratford Centre to East Side Exit. Continue walking, McDonalds will be on your right and Starbucks on your left. Keeping McDonalds on your right, walk towards the Post Office and then cross the road and go to the right, then turn left into Chant Street. Continue down Chant Street, down past the posts, then into Pitchford Street. Cross the road and enter through the metal gates, (opposite Widden Street).

 

By car

Directions to G4S London 2012 Recruitment and Training Centre, Pitchford Street, London, E15 4RZ: Approach the training centre from The Broadway one way system, turn into Tramway Avenue leading into West Ham Lane and then turn right into Widden Street. Provision for paid parking is nearby.

 

Allow 20 minutes extra time on your first visit, as you may not be able to park near the Training Centre.
