Top 9 reasons why your Job Post may have failed
1. Region missing – the Region has been left as the default option which is ‘Please Select’.
How can I fix this? – Check to see if you have chosen a region if not choose the closest match available
2. Post Code formatting – The postcode has been entered in the wrong format, for example, se283wz.
How can I fix this? – Check the postcode that you have entered, ensure that it is formatted like this example, SE28 3WZ.
3. Job Description length – Each job board has their own character limit and can vary as much as 5000 to 6000 characters. If you post in HTML boards count the HTML
characters too.
How can I fix it? – Shorten the job description.
4. Job Title length – Characters are generally restricted to 120.

5. The Job Title contains illegal characters such as – £, & or * – Most job boards prefer plain text.
How can I fix it? – Remove non-ASCII characters.
6. Pay Frequency – The salary calculation exceeds or is less than expected.
How can I fix it? – Go back and check the pay frequency and hourly rate if applicable, should it be changed to annually or hourly.
7. Using Hyperlinks – Most job boards do not like or allow ‘apply to email address’ or links to websites in job descriptions.

8. Alt Location Field – job boards do not recognise Building Names, Street or Road Names places called National or Work

How can I fix it? – Use alternative content.
9. Rate Description too long, for example, Excellent Salary plus fully expensed BMW Company Car with Private Healthcare, 26
