To create a new job post, click on ‘Jobs’ and select the ‘Add New Job’ option. You can either start fresh or select a pre-made template, which means the fields that were entered and locked in the template will be loaded into the job post.

The salary text-field helps the system match candidates to relevant jobs. In addition, it can be used to show job seekers something alternative, such as ‘Competitive’. If the salary text-field  is left blank, then the salary values will be displayed and visible to the job seeker. In the example above, the job seeker will not see £10-£15 per hour when they view the job post, but will see ‘Competitive’ instead.

It’s particularly important to insert a correct postcode as it will appear on the map which the job seekers will be able to see when viewing the job post. The hiring manager may choose to only to put a particular city eg. London. If the job requires travelling to multiple locations it is still important to specify an area, such as UK.

‘Who can view this job’ specifies the group of job seekers that will be able to see and apply for this job in their job search. External job seekers means that only potential candidates from outside the company may view this job post. Internal job seekers means that only potential candidates within the company can view.

At the bottom of the page are the following action buttons –

  • Cancel terminates the job posting process
  • Finish saves the incomplete job post in the My Unfinished Jobs table
  • Next progresses to the next stage of the process
It is also important to clearly specify what type of job is on offer. The search system utilised by Tribepad searches a wide-variety of jobs and descriptions meaning they must be clear and concise in order to fully utilise search listings.

After the initial information has been entered and ‘Next’ is clicked, further descriptions on the job can be added. It is also possible to specify descriptions that only an internal job seeker can see and vice-versa for external.

The job can be posted to any of the job boards listed. Different job boards may have different open and close dates for certain job, these can be selected here:

Once again, attention should be drawn to the action buttons at the bottom –

  • Back takes the user back to the previous page,
  • Cancel saves the job but doesn’t cancel it,
  • Skip does not post the job but interviews can be made on the next page,
  • Finish published but doesn’t take the user to the interview page,
  • Next publishes and takes them to the interview page.
